Just busted my passenger side mirror off. Anyone know where I may be able to find a replacement (besides the dealership) already painted Magnetic Gray? Or maybe a nifty set of folding ones. I'm searching, but all I keep coming up with is unpainted/black. Please help.
Thanks,
I did the same thing to my pass side mirror. Barely clipped an SUV and the thing just snapped off. I was more angry about it last night when I was in a crappy Ford crown victoria taxi and noticed he had stock folding mirrors!!!
Why the HECK can't our "sporty" Camry's (SE) have folding mirrors?
The price for a new one from the dealer is $190.
Luckily my buddy works at a dealership and I can get a discount. Still an outrageous situation...which I guess was my fault to begin with but help us out Toyota and put some stupid folding mirrors on the Camry.
Toyota is way too cheap to put folding mirrors on the Camry. I don't think it's even on the Avalon.
But folding mirrors wouldn't have helped your situation when you hit someone else's car with your mirror.
Agreed on the cheapness of Toyota.
I had a similar incident with my bimmer and the mirror simply folded up and in (2004 330ci - they folded up kinda like lambo doors). Still scratched the paint but saved the mirror.
New mirror with labor is $260. I'm getting it installed this week.
10 minutes of labor plus $130 non heated or $150 heated mirror (and his part cost is less than that).
I appreciate the info. I've been searching online (obviously unsuccessfully) for the part. Where do you suggest I purchase an oem, painted (black) mirror?
I agree that the labor is minimal and the dealership per hour labor costs are insane. Of course I've never installed a side mirror before so I didn't consider doing it myself. The stalk that the actual mirror is mounted on is still sticking off the side of the car - that's the part that snapped off. I didn't think it would be simple to remove and replace.
I have to have the 3M stoneguard piece applied on the new mirror as well.
Any suggestions would be great now that you've made fun of me a little bit for being uniformed.

It takes less than 10 seconds to pop off the interior trim piece and less than a minute to remove 3 nuts and unplug the connector. Reverse for installation. If you've never done it before it might take you 10 minutes.....
Assuming you have a 2007-2010, US built, Camry with unheated mirrors (just more lack of basic information provided and I'm not going to waste my time going back through your old posts), order one.

You are emotionless and have a heart of stone...but thanks very much for the info. ha
I actually searched that website before but it's not exactly user-friendly. The process sounds easy enough though. I emailed the website to ensure the part includes everything and I'll probably buy through them.
The connector that plugs into the stock mirror also governs the LED-turn signal or heat function of an aftermarket mirror? If not, what else needs to be done?

The turn signal mirror has never been part of a new car sold in North America. You should not have any expectation that there is a wiring harness there for it. This is something that you would need to add creatively to the turn signal wiring harness. As for heated mirrors, if the car had it originally then yes, the wiring is there. If not, then no.
