I have a 7 year, 75,000 mile Platinum Warranty on my car and I was planning on having Best Buy install teh Viper 5701 Remote Start/Alarm system... but not if it affects my warranty.

Does anyone know if it will affect my factory warranty?

Yes, any aftermarket parts will affect the warranty, unless you got it from the dealer.

no it will not affect your warranty.

do NOT have best buy install your alarm. Go somewhere else.

I've heard of way too many botched jobs at best buy. Best to go to a trusted car audio shop.

What is exactly is a trusted car audio shop anyway?

Ah screw it, I'm returning the unit. Don't want to deal with warranty issues down the road.

should i found out how much factory alarm and remote start costs for your car? thats the best route for you..... love having smart key. no alarm needed

It wont if you go to a reputable shop. Mine doesnt affect my warranty at all.
