Headlights - Saftey concern

Sometimes early morning / late afternoon I forget to turn my headlights on It has happened to me a few times now and I wanted to know if others have same issues with the Camry.

My interior dash lights are on all the time (are yours?) giving me the impression that my lights or day time lights are running, when in fact they aren't unless I actually remember to turn them on ?

Anyone have similar problems, specifically dash lights always running ?

That is why they have the green headlight on indicator in the dash.

Sounds like an urgent Canadian problem.

You better get to your dealer soon...

On a totally unrelated note, there should be a federal law enacted that would require prospective new car buyers to read the owners manual and then take a 100 question test over the material, and pass it at 80% before being allowed to take delivery.

I gotta say, I know I'm no noob, but far from expert, and don't like lighting people up on the forums for seemingly ignorant comments or questions, but I gotta go with gdanaher on this one, there should be a law (right after they institute the test you should pass to be a parent!) i mean cmon, the daytime running lights!?

How old are you?
You should get into the habit of knowing when to turn on the headlights when you start the car, or just put it in auto

There's also a dimming knob to turn your dash lights down when the headlights are on... try that

O and don't worry about it... happened to me when I first got my accord (they too have constant light on the gauges) switching from a car that didn't have auto headlights... like i said you need to make it a habit

From Vancouver i see.....lay off the weed........

Just put your headlights on "auto" and when it gets dark or near it they'll turn on by themselves...

I thought Canadian regulations required all vehicles to have Daytime Running Lights that could not have an off feature?

even if you do not turn headlights on, the daytime running lights DRL should come on automatically. even my old 1991 car had this.

if you have a newer toyota, just flip the light function to "Auto" then everything is taken care of.
