i bought 4 new Yokohama tires back in mid February for my 2008 Camry SE. these tires were recommended by the salesman to be the most quietest tires. so after the install i drove back home on the freeway at about 70 to 80 mph and he was right it was smooth and quiet. now in early march the front tires started making this noise as if the front tires were off balance when going over 40mph but with no vibration on the steering wheel. so i took it back and told them the problem and he said that it might be the suspension causing the tire to unevenly break in. so he said they rotated the tires from side to side, and the tires were already balanced. They still make that noise and if anything it got worse. Could a defective tire make that noise? because i dont think its a suspension problem its a new car.
Usually tires make road noise when they are new, so this is pretty weird. How's your alignment? Does the car pull to any side when you are going straight?

Move the front tires to the back and see if noise moves to the back. If yes, then it's your tires. Not likely all 4 tires are defective or making noise, but it possible if it's a bad batch.
Alignment. It can be thrown off just by hitting a bad pothole. When did you get it done? If the noise is that bad and that constant, you should be able to notice it on the tires.
Another thing to look for? Which is sometimes obvious but may be overlooked. Check to see you don't have any rocks/nails between the treads.
Awhile back, I got a nail stuck in one of my tires and it made a noise. Checked carefully and noticed a nail was stuck. removed nail, patched it and it was fine.
