Alberta - 02 Camry V6 3.0 L- Milieage Help

Hi All,
I am a new owner of 02 camry v6 3.0 L, 70,000 KM in alberta,Canada .
Winter (temp around -20 C / -4 F, Heater on all time)
Mileage is 6 L/KM OR 14 MPG in city.

This look low compare to what other websites says.
I would appreciate if other proud owner of camry share experience or guide what to do if this really low mileage comparing cold temperature.

Cold weather will impact your gas mileage negatively. It takes longer to start, idle time is longer or rpms may be higher. It takes the car longer to reach optimum temperature, which means not all the fuel is being burned efficiently.

Also, when you check MPG, there is a Canadian MPG and US MPG. Most dealers in Canada will NOT tell you this. In Canada, we use Imperial gallon (not US gallon). 1 imperial gallon = 1.2 US gallons. So what does this mean? If you are in Canada, your car may be rated as 25 MPG (City) for example, but the equivalent is 20 MPG (City) in US. note these numbers are not exact but just for explanation purposes. I learned the hard way.

Also, short trips will impact MPG negatively as well.

Thanks for the reply. It helps particularly gallon difference. However I would appreciate if other people could tell their experience with mileage in cold weather. I am not sure if I am the only one or it is pretty common.

2003 V6. Temperature: 2-10 Celsius

I get about 10-11L/ 100km combined. which is kind of crappy mileage...

should be more like 9.55 L/100km combined.

highway = 7.6L/100km
city = 11.5L /100km
combined = 9.55L/100km
