BlueTooth - How to change the microphone volume on a NonNav Camry

The following TSB has been created by Toyota to allow 2007-2009 Camry owners to adjust the microphone sensitivity so those you call can hear you better.

How to adjust Bluetooth microphone Volume (Non_Nav)

You have to be quick doing the "rub your tummy and pat your head" part of the instructions or it will not go into the Vol Type mode

I also noticed that to change the setting from 0 to something else I had to turn the TUNE knob instead of the VOLUME knob and then press the TUNE knob to store the setting

You just turn the ignition off after the last step

I recently bought a 2008 RAV4, and have been troubled by the volume issue. I was excited to find this thread with a Google search. Unfortunately, try as I might, I have not been able to access the volume menu. I've performed all the steps within a few seconds, but no luck.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any other tips?

TIA

Two questions:
1. If your phone is paired (as the bulletin says), do you do this process with or without your phone with you?
2. Will this process allow you to access the speaker volume control for incoming calls? I know how to adjust the instruction volume ("Press the talk switch and say..........") Its the volume of incoming calls that I need to adjust.

just use the vol control on your steering control, that's the only way you can turn up the vol.

I called the dealer several times on this issue and they could never help. This was easily done and worked great.

I have tired many time and it doesn't work for me. I could get the "Not Linked" to display but whenever I clicked on vol + or vol -, the message went away and the phone connection then established.

Hi,

Not trying to Jack the thread but since it is about blue tooth. Maybe someone could help. I have a 2010 everyone hears me okay so have never had to adjust volume but will mess with it just to see.

Now on a different note. I have to call alot of numbers that require me to dial an extension. Is there anyway to add a pause and then the extension? Right now I am dialing then hitting talk then saying extension then dial again. A long way of getting it done when in traffic.

Thanks in advance,

Happy driving.
