So i got my UR strutbar and rsb yesterday.I installed the strut bar and noticed that on the right side of it,there is a portion of the bar where the bar gets thinner and then back to regular thickness.I thought that maybe it was designed that way for clearance issue.I looked at some of the pics the members here that have the strutbar, and i can see that the thickness is the same from one side to the other.I've included a pic of it so you guys can see.I got this from mbarton btw and i e-mailed him and he said that all the strutbars come like that.Is this true?
I think it was damaged during shipping. The box that it came in with was kinda crumpled like something really heavy was placed on it.Damn you UPSMbarton has responded to me through e-mail and said that he will try to get a replacement as soon as he can.I had to show him a pic of mine and a pic of njerald's for comparison and he saw the difference.

The bar doesn't shown any damage visually. How did you come to the conclusion that it was UPS at fault??? Was the box pack adequately or could it be the person whom shipped it out didn't pack it right? Or was it a defected item from manufacture?
There are many factors to be consider before you jump the gun and blame it on UPS!

The box came in a little bent and kinda messed up beyond reasons unknown to me.And i don't really blame UPS entirely.Whether it's the UPS,manufacturer or the person who shipped it,i don't really care,as long as in the end, we solve the problem and i get a good strutbar.
Thats what happens when you buy aftermarket parts Its never 100%.
Mine doesnt rub, didnt have a defect (except the first bar...it would fit over bolts). Like darksparkz, my first bar wouldnt fit into the bolts. It was way off not to mention it was shipped only in bubble wrap and powder coating was chipped and scratched to hell. mbarton sent a replacement and it was a lot better and fit.
As for shipping, like GT-R SE stated, shipping would not have done such a damage. Doesnt look like any paint chips either. Only way to bend a metal like that is to take another metal pipe, place it on the bar and smack the pipe with a hammer or something. It seems to be a manufacture defect.
Its kind of sad to see such a company produce products that is so inconsistent. You would think there would be a template of some sort. Its like they make each one as if it was the first version they made.
My UR strut bar did not have that kink in it. The packaging that it came in was ridiculous though and took over 15 minutes to undo because of all the layers of newspapers, plastic wrap, tape, etc. Either way, everything fit perfectly and doesn't rub the hood at all.
