5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It looks like both of you were pulling out and neither of you were looking...
that's why im hoping the mediators or whoever is going to investigate wont be as blind as that^
i wasn't driving, my wife was. looking at the pics, my wife backed out of her space way before the other driver did from theirs. my wife said the other driver just bolted out of her space.
there is a witness who works at the grocery store in that shopping center. he saw the whole thing and just got into his car and just drove away.
As for the accident and who is at fault, judging by the pictures, both vehicles are equal distance from their parking stall, which most likely means both will be at fault. Sorry.
That's why I don't park with the unwashed masses........I'll opt to walk 100-200 feet farther.
i agree. we usually park away from everyone else but the parking lot in that center is pretty hard to avoid other cars. the whole lot is surrounded by businesses. plus, my 7 yr old and 6 month old were in the car too.

Are you blind? The Camry is nearly fully in the lane, the Jeep is still mostly in his parking spot.
fuck, well for those of you thinking about coming to San Diego, don't drive here. I've been in SD for 4 years and I have never seen so many accidents. also, if you're a witness to one, step up and give a statement. dont bitch out and drive away.

Yea, where'd the Lexus ES go?
I would say your wife didn't do a great job of getting out of the space, but then again, she shouldn't have been hit by the Jeep regardless.
Only his wife and the Jeep driver and the whitness know the true story...So no sense in us saying whose fault it is. We weren't there!
Looks like it'll be "your word against mine" kind of deal...
The good thing is the person has the pictures. Any reasonable person (which means, they must have a brain) would side the Camry.
Even though I would also point out the way the Camry pulled out sucked, assuming there wasn't another car on the driver side and only the ES on the passenger side.
I would say the camry is almost fully reversed out of the parking spot. Also both people can say the other bolted out. The jeep could have been carefully backing up first and the camry bolted out or vice versa. The mediator might believe that the jeep bolted out since you had your kids in the car and its not the type of driving most moms do with their kids in the car.
Anyway, things to do:
Its a good thing that the lot were surrounded by business so check the lot security cams. Try also checking the security cams of the grocery store that employee worked for.
Secondly, try to get that employee to give a statement. Normal people will cooperate and help out.
Lastly, try to get that car fixed by Toyota, I would hate to see a paintjob not match my factory paint on a 4 day old car.
