Request for Plugged spoiler hole trunk lid (reconsidering removal)

Well, I just went through the part of the service manual that deals with spoiler installation and it seems that not only are there apparently three (3) 3/4" holes, but obviously, from the uneven number, they aren't symetrical, meaning removing the factory spoiler may mean the trunk lid will be even uglier than with the spoiler in place, unfortunately. (This is a matter of taste, I realize; I just happen to not like the look of the spoiler).

Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to call locally to see if I can find plastic plugs for covering the holes, but since there's the removal of 3M adhesive tape involved, I wanted to see what the trunk lid looked like without the spoiler and with the holes plugged, or open.

So, does anyone have pics or can someone direct me to where I can find a pic or two?

you must hate that spoiler...
just leave it alone. gen 5's dont look great without the spoiler, and look even worse with a bunch of plugs in the trunk.
i deleted the spoiler on my acura i used to have and used plugs from home depot that i matched to the paint code, but it still looked $hitty....i ended up putting it back on a month later.

Yeh, I saw the white plastic plugs but no black ones that were 3/4". I'm going to search some more before giving up. If I don't like it with the plugs, I can always put it back on. On my Mustang GT, I actually bought an "unspolied" trunk lid from a V6 at a junk yard and had it painted to match; that's how much I hate these type spoilers. I don't mind the "lip" type spoilers, but prefer the clean look.

If it really bothers you get another boot lid. Whatever you use to cover the holes will end up looking tacky as. I see it all the time, hell many people use squares of electrical tape YUCK!

Personally I'd just leave it alone.

agreed. just leave it alone unless you plan on getting another trunklid or filling the holes...anything else will look plain dumb.

and just to rub it in...
clean trunk...the 4th gen ES looks awful with a spoiler...yuk!
i personally perfer the 5th gen camry with a spoiler

swap your lid with someone who wants a spoiler and has none... then drill your new holes and install onto their (now yours) spoiler-less trunk lid.

a lot of work, but sounds like you want it nice - can't blame ya.

I'm just about coming to the same conclusion, it'll look even worse with five freakin' plugs!

CorLexusES, the only car those spoilers look good on are Evos and that's because it's as about a plain a design as a Dodge Aries K! Installing a spoiler on a car like yours is about as tupid as low profile tires on an SUV. Btw, is the "Ville" Montgomery Village?

Hadn't thought about having someone cover up the holes on the original lid. I know just the guy to talk to about that; it should be cheaper still than buying another lid and having it painted.

ETA. NMGeorge, SWEET ride! The OEM seats were black vinyl, no?
