36,000 Miles in 237 Days

I have traveled quite a bit and thought I would offer my review so far,

I have had the oil and filter changed 7 times, tires rotated 7 times, and the air and pollen filter changed once.

I have burned 1275 Gallons of Gas, paid an average of 2.358 per gallon, and averaged 28.02 MPG. I am impressed with the car overall.

I had the front rotors turned today under warranty (35,985 miles) since I noticed last week that I was getting a vibration in the steering wheel when I would brake.

The Toyota All Weather mats have been a disappointment, I have already worn a hole where my foot rests on gas pedal. In addition one of the mats has torn where the holes are to hold them to the floor.

The only thing that I would change is I don't understand why the mirrors do not fold in. This should be on all models and especially the XLE model.

Would I buy another, yes, but I would look at the Vanza really hard.

Thats some really good feedback on product and the numbers make it even better. To put that many miles on a car in about 9 months really tells you something about the reliability of the car. My car is 2 years old in may and i have 25,000 miles on it with no problems. Except that it is starting to vibrate under breaking.

I drive 80 miles a day for work (35 each way + 5 each way for lunch) plus 160 each way to Atlanta every weekend. This calculation of course excludes my daily chores etc. I chuckled as my sales guy at the dealership was telling me about the superb 36,000 mile warranty. Little did he know haha.

As for the mats I have WeatherTech floorliners. I hope they dont wear. My factory mats started to indent where I placed my foot.

Nice review, I agree 100% on the mirrors, especially at this price point. That's some crazy miles you drive.

I am tracking for 55,000 miles a year which is about what I was putting on my company cars. They were replacing them at 60-70K.

I bought this car and hope that it will last 5 years with normal maintainence, we will see. It was Camry or Accord and I went with the Camry because of this board and the MPG people were getting with the V-6.

Wow, how do you average 28mpg?

I just spent a tank (14.8 gallons) of premium and only go 350 miles out of it (24mpg).

Do you need to drive speed limit at highway or something

I drive 5-7 MPH over the limit and set my cruise control. Everyday I will pass people 3-4 times on the highway, they speed up and slow down. This wastes fuel.

12-15 is considered average. i will have my camry 7 months on the 18th and i have little over 3700 miles right now. so by 18th i'll probably be around 3000 under average. though i drive more during summer so will make it up.
