Gen 5 Transmission Jerks

I tried searching within the Camry Forum specifically, but I didn't get any results.

I have a question to owners of V6 Gen 5 Camry's with the 5-speed automatic, does your transmission jerk a little bit when you're braking and before the car comes to a stop you apply the gas again?

I've experienced the problems a few times at stop signs and stop lights when I would brake or slow down from 25-30 miles to about 5-10 miles and then accelerate again. There is a slight jerk right after applying the gas again. I didn't notice the jerking on a full stop. Our Chevy does this, but our Mazda doesn't. Is there a cause for concern and have the dealer look at it, or it's normal?

I have an '04 V6 SE with the 3MZ. I'm not sure if the 1MZ experiences the jerking with 5-speed auto. Over at clublexus.com, RX330 owners mention their SUVs have an indecisive transmission, which may or may not be corrected with the ECM update for the RX. I know RX and '04 V6 SE share the same engine, but not sure about the tranny.

Thanks for your inputs.

Tranny is exactly the same. I have looked in the "new model year change" manual, and the only things that have changed, as far as I can remember are the,

1. Coolant - change over to reddish one, but no difference in life/performance, etc.

2. Seat lumbar power - Added a button for lumbar movement.

3. Tachometer - Redlines at 6100 (3MZ )instead of 6200 RPM. (1MZ)

4. Engine (maybe ECM also, but manual didn't say anything about ECM) .- obviously - Bored to 3.3, increase coolant flow path width within the block. Piston and conrod is a tad different also.

5. Added maintenance required lamp in the cluster.

You might wanna take it to the dealer and have the ECM reset. Probably the ECM for the tranny might be tuned differently.

alot of ppl have blamed the switch to a drive by wire system for the poor shifting quality. There are TSBs that say re-flashing the ECU (or some other computer) with an update may help.

My car was like that, the dealer told me it was nothing and they couldn't find anything on the test drive. They also said it was because of my rims they told me it might be i say again it might be because 19's are oversized for the car! That was a bunch of bullshit so i brought the car over to my buddy at amco. He test drove it and told me to come back the next day. Well long story short there were some sensors that were dirty in the tranny that he cleaned and it all went away...I wish i could elaborate on this more for you but this is as much detail as he gave me.

Oh yeah lemme wanr you guys about dealerships and rims.
To save themselves a headache; they will always blame everything on your rims. I was having a problem with my alignment and they blamed the rims. My boots broke, and they blamed the rims as well. I blew a tire, they blamed the rims. Always blaiming the rims. SO I went back to stock; and I still had simliar problems.
