Jerk When Shifting..

Hello All,

I know everyone is probably sick of seeing threads about flaring and whatnot, but I'm very new not only to newer model vehicles, but also to this forum...so be gentle =P
I have a 2009 Camry V6 SE, and of course ive seen a ton of topics and issues with flaring and slipping (ive searched the forum topics)...but my question is that if theres someone with this problem out there who is willing to share, what does this problem feel like? it seems that when I accelerate slowly through the gears, and each time I feel it shift, it kind of...knocks...or bumps kind of hard...Which ive never felt in my older vehicle (a 1997 toyota avalon V6). its hard for me to explain and thats why im here in confusion..but i feel the whole car jerk a bit every time the car upshifts...as well as, between some of the later gears, the rpm seems to rev a couple hundered up before shifting (very briefly, but enough to notice every time) Does this sound similar to the flaring problem?

Hold the flak if im irritating people with another one of these topics, im only posting to get a little more input/peoples personal experience with this issue (after doing plenty of topic searching) B4 I take it to the stealership...I'm not sure if I'm just being "internet paranoid"..lol

Thanks guys--

It should not jerk when upshifting when driven normally.

Actually it probably shouldn't jerk when upshifting period.

Downshifting jerk is normal.

The new Aisin U-series transmissions are lousy . The TSB just changes the software of the troublesome U-series transmissions, right?

Toyota did the same with the 4-cyl U-241E but it never worked, because the problem was with something about emptying/refilling of fluid circuits against centrifugal force. It was a design problem. They ended up junking that transmission and came up with a new design (U-250E).

Hopefully before your powertrain warranty expires they'd come up with a halfway decent replacement and drop it in for you.
