The same thing happened to me before I transferred my TPMS, everytime I drive around 50 miles (just a guess here) then the light come on but when I get back to the house...the ECU commuciated with the stock wheels near my car which tricked the ECU to turn off the light.
Only the dealer can reprogram the TPMS ECU.

great news and great right up! thanks.
about a year ago I was looking to disable tpms light, but didn't find any info on it.

something similar happened to me:
I took off my OEM wheels with sensors and drove for a week, no light came up.
OEM were not stored close by to the car.
then light came up and stayed on till I moved wheels to the garage.
couple weeks later, light came up again. i checked air pressure in the OEM tires, all good, but light still was on.
after sensors were transferred into wheels installed on the car, light went off after half a mile.

as far I as found on enet, if tpms going to sleep mode after some time of sitting without rotation to save batteries. when wheels spinning again, they waking up.
IS IT RIGHT?

batteries or sensors if they not disassemble, need to be replaced every 5 years or so.
toyota pacific type sensors are not disassemble.
do we need to replace them? or they got kinetics-life time batteries?
didn't find any thing about it.
any info?

tpms

I thought I read in the manual that the TPMS turns off when non-sensor steel winter rims are installed. The dealer said the light will stay on. Nobody seems to know for sure. When I have my winter rims on (no sensors), the light stays off, the odd time it will blink for a trip or two, but this only happens once or twice all winter. I have no problem with that.

my light stayed on when wheels/sensors were removed. maybe once a month it was blinking for some time, but after ACC turn off/on would go to light on mode again.

I tried to disconnect TPMS antenna and/or receiver-engine light turned on.
