does anyone know where i can buy the window shade on the rear window? the one on the xle gen 5 and 5.5 the one you pull it up?
To clear things up...what I posted was just something to share. They would go on the doors if purchased.
Jay: I actually looked at the rear window as well. Its on the gen6 XLE. I've seen some cheap aftermarket that is either automatic with a remote or manual. Requires putting holes into roof headliner. If you're interested, let me know and I'll see if I can find the links.
When I do have a kid, I wouldnt mind having it in the back seats to keep the sun away.
In general, I am looking for foldable shades. I've seen some cheap ones where you untwist, unfold or even paper ones.
Are you referring the shades or the tint? If tint, its barely noticeable. If shades, no way would I put this on the front. The shades were for the doors. I am just looking around for shades in general that I can put up when car is parked and take down when I'm driving.
This is what I'm more interested in looking for
I know there are a lot of them out there as well as different ones. Anyone using one that they recommend?
I was talking about the curtains on the side windows.
I have one of those reflectors to keep the car kind of cool in the summer. It works pretty well.
The pull one from the pillar will break sooner or later so, i don't think it's worth it.
Do you man, whatever you like is fine with me.
Definitely illegal in the front.
I have a feeling the pillar ones will fall off since it uses 3M tape and I'm the type that doesnt like to stick anything in the car. Hell, I wouldnt even be using it all the time. Only on those hot hot days.
Is there a specific reflector/brand you use or you just purchased anyone?

i tried the cheap aftermarket ones that you find in autozone or pepboys but it keep on falling lol. and i threw it away. i want to be oem like the ones on the xle. im going to search it too and see what parts im going to be needed.
i've searched it before but i failed lol. don't know what is called. i think i need the whole rear cover (the ones with the speaker grill and the sun visor). thanks in advance if you can give me the links. or my best bet is go to a junk shop and look for a xle and get those parts. do you think i need the headliner too? sorry for the thread jack.
if anyone has a xle gen 5 or gen 5.5 can you take a picture on your rear sun visor and the headliner thanks.
ok here's my question. if i buy the le w/o speaker grille with sunshade do i need to buy the shade too? sorry for the dumb question lol. because its a lot of $$$ just to convert it.
i think i will be needing the Le w/o speaker grille w/sunshade worth $362 and the shade $218 not to mention the brackets too. im going to back out on this one. not worth it hehehe
I use the foldable accordian style shade that's the metallic(aluminum foil) look/finish. I usually tuck it under the sun visors to hold it in place. The reflective material really helps defelect summer sun heat. Just get one with thick sturdy foam or cardboard or whatever they use inside to keep its' form. Soem are cheap and floppy

Thats what I might have to do...use the visors. Like Jay said, I've those that would fall off. Than again, all these accordian metallic shades are universal.

i just went and bought one at Autozone i think, i've had it for like 5 years so that tells you something. It has a rubber band thing that when you fold it, it keeps it that way.
