5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am planning to get a Jap license plate and was wondering if anyone knew a good mount to mount it on my front bumper. Also does anyone have pics of how they look on a Camry?
Funny you mention this topic. I noticed these Front License Plate brackets on the Non-US GEN6 Camrys that were a little different from the OEM one I put on my car.
I think the OEM license plate bracket from a Lexus ES350 might just do the trick, (but not sure if the Japanese plate width is a little larger)
1. Georgia requires and issues only one plate for display on the rear of the vehicle.
2. The hole pattern of a Japanese plate is wider than a North American plate. Without measuring, memory has it at about 20 mm, but that's an educated guess. Many Japanese cars have double holes tapped on the rear of the vehicle. Find one and measure.
3. If you want a plate on the front, have one made to match the number on the rear of the vehicle. They are likely available at the same place that will sell you a fake Japanese plate. Might as well have a fake Georgia plate and express your patriotism to the Great State of Georgia.

"People who think they know it all are particularly irritating to those of us who do."
Don't be a loser and buy one of those fake ebay wannabe ones.
Go plateless in the front. Even though it might be breaking a useless law, it still would look better than being a douche with a fake licence plate.
The law isn't useless... I went plateless front on my last car. I spun out and slammed the back of the car into a tree. They needed to get info on the car and since there were no plates in the front they had to ask me, then wait until the car was pulled to verified... doors were jammed
Thanks for the reply, the width of a jap license plate is 13 inches...
Yeah I would call it JDM for the sake of car political correctness. I don't know how cultured you guys are in Georgia but I can just see Bubba Sparxxx and crew sitting in front of the feed store commenting how nice those jap cars are.

Exactly, so please keep your uneducated stereotypical narrow minded comments to yourself. Any half brained 4th grader would know I meant no offense when I used the term "jap". Sorry to have hit a nerve!
