Problems with retrofitted Ebay projector headlights

Hello all,

I have a couple of quick questions that hopefully someone here can answer. My girl has a 02 Camry LE Gen 5 of course and I bought her a set of those ebay projector headlights, having retrofitted my gen 3 with projectors before i knew that the projectors installed in the ebay set were going to be trash and of course when i opened up the headlights they were. Anwyays I finished retrofitting bmw projectors in the setup using MDF as the base for the proejctors. I bought the headlights a long time ago at least 2-3 years and finally got a chance to put them in her car. Funny thing is that the top tab is too short and needs about another inch towards the engine to line up with the hole for the top headlight mounting tab. So the questions are, will the MDF hold up and should I have used something else in the headlight housing? Should I be worried about a fire? and are the newer ebay projector headlights designed correctly so that all the screw holes line up? (I'm thinking of trashing this set of headlights and moving the projectors to another set of headlights) My girl hates the stock headlight housing else i would just retrofit the projectors into there and she doesnt want the black projector housing on ebay so the chrome projector one is the only one she's willing to live with. Thanks for all the help.

i would not use MDF inside the headlight... eventually the mdf will warp or separate from the moisture if not the heat. if you plan on redoing it, use aluminum or stainless steel sheet instead.

i just have one thing to say about ebay projector headlights... you get what you pay for. don't expect it to fit at all without at least some modifications. if by some chance you get a set that actually fits, you're just lucky.
