I assume it's no longer under warranty and that is why you are not bring it to the dealer to have them fix it, correct?

If this happen to your 2004, do you not have a record of what was replaced?

I sold the 2004 and all the work receipts were in the glove box when I got rid of it.The 2008 is still under warranty and I will be taking it to the dealer next week.If there were any TSBS on this problem it would save me alot of hassle. The last time I took my car to the dealer about a blower noise, the techs told me they didn't hear anything. So I showed the service manager and he agreed with me.Brought the car in another day and they hadn't orederd the blower. Came back another day for them to put it in.So something as simple as a blower caused my to miss 3 days of work to get it repaired. It seems if i have a TSB in my hand,I get the problem taken care of otherwise not.

Use the warranty, be nice, make them be thorough. Dont let them give you a wall job (they park it against the wall for 3 days and hope you forget about it). Check here for TSBs, email toyota, google. Sounds to me either loose belt, slipping belt, bad belt or bad pump. The only time it is allowed to growl is if you force it all the way to right or left and if it is too loud it is the pump. I have a 2002 V6 with 125k and the PS is silent. Your car is too new to be doing this so make them fix it!
