5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
More torque than horsepower. Not surprised since Gene's was the same.
Car's 10x louder now after the tune. Freaking Vibrant exhaust is crazy loud. The car backfires a bit louder and more frequently. And the car just PULLS like no other. Thank you Gene for everything, once again...

Awesome paul. those numbers sound almost like the crank v6 numbers but of course ur to the wheels,ur much lighter, and the curve i believe is better with the boost then what we can get out of engine. can't wait to hear that exhaust. the guys at that shop must love seeing your cam there hehe.

No... they're actually better... WAY better than V6.. his is measured at the wheels while the stock V6 cam numbers are measured at the crank... we put out about 210-220 at the wheels...
I need to dyno mine... once I get more performance work done...

yea i know . i guess i should reword that to say those looks like numbers to the crank. paul's turbo i4 would smoke our v6s unless we really did some heavy engine work(ie turbo, NOS, bore it out etc..)
edit:fixed previous post. read a few chapters for my criminal justice course so i'm out of it.
great numbers- that auto is holding you back! and I'd love to hear the sound of that car...
the only thing that I wouldn't like is the amount of torque that is made that low, I presume just as the boost hits. it's a good thing that you're auto in this case, cuz otherwise you'd never be able to hook up with 290ft/lbs of torque at 3K with a 5-speed

just curious Paul, I was looking at the dyno sheet at it says the charts are for fly wheel horsepower/tq. Doesnt this mean that your actual numbers to the ground will be ~20% less? Or is there a correction factor applied?
Paul I know that I wouldn't be messing with yur turbo
U should show us some video of u beatin other cars( list of them too)
ahhh I've taken a couple cars with this camry lol.

Its 276 and 290 at the ground, not the flywheel.
