So as I was opening my trunk to load some stuff and noticed that the mat was wet. So I took it off and low and behold this is what I find:
and here it is draining!
im sorry to say but now you have rust in your brand new car... it compromises chassis rigidity and lowers the value of the car like crazy. take it back to the dealer and find out what went wrong!

Well. we've had a heck of a rain storm in DFW the past few days. First open the trunk and look for and romove the tree debris that has gathered in the molding/drain area at the base of the rear glass. Mine gets a lot of tree junk in there. Once that is clear I'll bet the farm tht the leak is cured.

i wonder if this isnt from maybe one of the seals in the trunk going bad or a hole being somewhere. if it was your fault then it would be much less water. its not like you spilled like 20 bottles of water in there. maybe the dealer will find whats wrong and fix it under warrenty ( yea right)
looks like the drainage system that gets rid of the water from the trunk/rear windshield area was clogged... i agree with other people and see if you can make a case at the dealer.
The first thing a used car dealer does is look in the trunk wheel well for signs of collision repaint, flood damage, cracking, rust, frame damage, and mould - it's the easiest place to see damage because "no one thinks of looking there."
Trust me, as long as the car is under warranty you have a case for them to fix the problem.
If the car's under warranty, I can't see how they'll fix the rust.... That totally compromises the value of the car and the car itself... If they are honest and follow through, they'll probably have to replace the car.

hmmm... i pulled most of the paneling off and it seems the rust are just in those places and appears to be surface rust. But I'll see what the dealer says about it.

Rust will eat through eventually, so you should get this taken care of ASAP
