Gen 5 body kits

Those of you interested in Gen 5 body kits, here are a few links to get the Carissima/Top Gear body kit:

www.extremedimensions.com sells the kit the entire kit for $749.00

Or you can visit www.streetconcept.com and you can purchase the same kit for $469.00

As far as I am concerned the kit looks great and it happens to be one of the best looking kits out there except for the rear bumper for the Gen 5. The rear bumper makes the car look very heavy.

I actually have plans to build my own body kit, incorporating various designs into one. When I have some pics, I'll post them.

Yeah, I would have to agree. It kind of makes you wonder if they really know what they are doing. For the price though, it's hard to beat.

Yeah they maybe be cheaper, but would you rather spend the extra money and buy from a peson/company that know their stuff, or just one that is trying to make money and will just copy anything. Check out a couple of sites and you will see that they will all have a pic of the same kit but named differently.

Its really confusing for someone who just got into the modifying aspect of cars does not know the difference of what they are being sold. True story I had a guy in his 30's that wanted to buy a kit for his Rolla off of eBay. He came to me and asked if I heard of the kit listed and said that it was a true JDM kit. Needless to say I looked at the kit and it was called "Kixx", while it was really a Evo kit by JT Auto Style.

I finally got to go through their site, and I'm sorry it seems like the overall basic style and functionality of the site is a copy of ED..... I would not be surpised if ED was their supplier.

I feel sorry for ppl with an 00 Cam cause according to their site there is none...

But honestly, with everything out there for the Cam and them being in Cali, where alot of the manufactuers for body kits are located, they should have more stuff there, and it seems like their site is just a copy of ED and other sites, no real orginality to it.

Don't get me wrong wrong I'm all for a company to sell stuff for the Toyota and the Cam in particular, but as the old addage goes "If you are not gonna do it right, then don't do it at all".

Like I said, I agree with you and maintain my sketpicism for those persons selling items that are of lesser quality or don't quite know the correct application. When I listed the two websites, my intention was not to provide information on poor quality kits, but rather provide a means for those who would like a body kit but may not be able to afford the priciness of the Carissma kit. I have been reading the different threads for a while now and never really noticed any links for Gen 5 body kits. I have a couple more websites that I will post that offer a very wide selection of hood scoops and another website that offers the EVO V kit for the Gen 5 camrys. While the Carissma kit would be my preference, I am acutally in the process of designing my own body kit, that incorporates various design themes from other body kits that I have seen. Once I have my design the way I want it, I plan on hand laying fiberglass to make the parts. Any and all advice would be much appreciated.

Oh, I know that was not your intent, but it just gets my goat when I see companies do that.

As for Gen 5 body Kits, JT Auto Style makes an Evo V kit and Vizage, actually started a US company and have a really nice kit out. Actually the grille on the white Cam at Steet Concept is actually a Vizage Grille.

I noticed you have a Sportivo Grille, where did you pick it up from?

I ordered my sportivo grille from Pacific Toyota in Australia. I have all the info at my office and if you like, I will post all the info on Monday morning, including price, contact person and website.
