Well, I finally went to the dealer yesterday to strike a deal and I got a 2010 SE V6. They didn't have any in stock and when they tried to find one, the ones they found didn't have the right options - so they are going to order me one from the factory. I can't wait! Pictures will follow once I actually take delivery.
2010 SE V6
Blue Ribbon Metallic/Ash Leather
JBL
Moonroof
Rear Spoiler
All-Season Tires
take pictures of it and all or else no one will believe you like they didn't gt-r. congrats and awesome choice with the se v6 and options. u know if they added smart key to the SE mix or not for 2010. i heard mixed things when asked at dealership.
very nice. i'm looking for the same color except in the 4 cylinder. To me, one of the big benefits of getting the 2010 vs 2009 is the new 2.5L engine with 6 speed transmission. New engine, new technology, whereas the V6 (still amazing) has been around for the past 4 model years.
i can live without JBL, but i want the bluetooth with the VFD stereo
can you pm me and let me know which dealer you used?

v6 though now is tried and tested. they fixed all the little things with it and now its pretty much perfect. the 2.5 though who knows if its perfect of it'll have problems. its too new to tell. the v6 is a beast so why ruin something great. sure i would trade in my 2009 in a heartbeat if they put in a 3.7 with direct port. that would truelly be a monster. but i'll take what i have and add in a cold air and exhaust and will enjoy the current power. its plenty, its reliable, and its efficient.

Eh... the Camry's FWD can't even handle the 268hp as it is from a stop.
Camry's next step is AWD. Then it could bump power to 300+ hp.
Toe stepping though on some of Toyota's other cars (Lexus), and the upcoming Celica will probably be more than sufficient.
yea awd would be awesome. i'm thinking maybe gen 7. i think they need to tweak the design, throw in eather direct port 3.5 and lighten car or throw in 3.7 direct port and of course AWD along with both. they need to also have smart key in the SE grade. if they do all this for gen7 i think it will be a hit like gen 6/6.5
i can definitely understand the "tried and true" aspect of the V6 and I've driven an avalon extensively with it (but with the 5 speed transmission).
to me, the extra power of the V6 isn't necessary. When i was younger, i loved being beating people from a dead stop at a stop light.
but after gas hit $4, i re-evaluated my aggressive driving habits and i haven't gone back, even with the $2 gas. If i need to pass someone, I'll floor it and rev it up into the 5000's temporarily, but the need for speed off a straight line just doesn't excite me anymore
I'm now more of a "take the corners" hard type of person. If i wanted a car that was fast from a dead stop, i'd start slumming it, grow a mullet, and get a muscle car that's noisy and spews noxious gas/smoke everywhere. (not that there's anything wrong with a mullet......)
