Gen5 02 Camry LE AC Burning Smell when on recycled air

My '02 Camry LE 4cyl when my AC is on recycled air I get a burning rubber or plastic smell through the system on occasion, but when i turn it to outside air it goes away, really pissing me off, and PS has a new cabin filter

I have a similar problem, the a-hole at Jiffylube tracked in motor oil or something into the carpet and when you use the recirculate setting, you have no choice but to smell the oil odor. Perhaps you have the same problem.

Did you try to replace your cabin air filter?

Ouch! You take your car to places like Jiffy Lube? That's a big mistake. I either change my own oil or let the dealers do it if it happens to be going in for maintenance/repairs, etc, but either than that, the best person to change your own is yourself, provided you know the basics of oil change.
