Pics of my custom GPS mount, padded front armrest, LEDs, and car
I just wanted to share some pics of my car and some modifications I have done. I know it needs to be lower (saving up for coilovers), and the rims are not my favorite, but they were came free with the car (I negotiated them into the deal when I bought the car new so I would not have stock wheels).
Custom GPS mount
Custom Padded Armrest
Cusco front strut bar and Carbon Fiber engine cover
4500K HID Headlights
Cool white LEDs were also replaced for the license plate, front door courtesy, and interior rear reading lights. Working on some other mod right now and will post as I complete.

How did you make the custom GPS mount and how does it attach to the car? Also, where did you connect the power cord to the back of the GPS? I don't see the normal Garmin cradle, where the plug normally goes. Thanks for answering>

The GPS mount is made out of sheet metal I got at work. I made a template based on how I wanted to look and fabricated it. It is smooth as glass and painted to match dash. It attaches by pulling the vent insert section forward and sliding into place. There are notches for the clear tab like pieces in the back on the vent insert section. The cord plugs into the side of the GPS and runs behind the vents, behind the radio, and into the center concole area and plugs into the outlet next to the AUX port. You don't have to, but I like a clean factory look (FYI...it is not pluged in right know, but it is almost hidden when it is).
I have a mold of the mount and I am making one that has adjustable side holders for different GPS and I-PODs.

The Cusco front strut bar is from a Scion Tc. The vertical parts of the mounts were at a slight angle and the bar (which is a perfect size) could not slide into place properly. My friend, who is an excellent welder at a hot rod shop, adjusted the vertical pieces and the bar slides right into place. There is no problems and it looks straight from the Cusco factory. Several suspension guys I know say it looks great and performs like the orignal one would. I love the look of it plus it is a one off...well now someone might try and copy.

padded armrest where'd you get that from?? is it available in black?
The padded armrest is custom made by my wife and I. I bought a high dense form piece and cut to my specifications. I took apart the center armrest and had my wife sew the fabric together after creating a pattern. I then tucked into place tightly and re-assembled the armrest.
It is great for long driving and looks like it belongs.
It could be done in any color any fabric you wnated. I still have the pattern and could make another one and/or walk you through on your own.
PM me if questions.

Not all XLEs. Some come with a soft fabric "suede like" material called Fraichir. Leather is standard on the V6 model. I commute to much in traffic for the V6.
The armrest can be made using any material though. The one I made and have right now is the first version.
