Gen6 $3200 Accident repair in parking lot.

My beautiful 2008 Camry V6 SE was minding its own business parked at the beach. I am standing across the parking lot enjoying the view. before I could
take action, a 2001 Acura mdx forcefully backs into my car, taking off the drivers side mirror. It bent the door frame, the car is in the body shop getting a whole new door. Would have been nice if Toyota has put the hinged mirrors on the Camry, like on the Corrola and Rav4.

Repair estimate $3200 the other party was rightous and came through with insurance.

You can not edit a Title, how would you have titled the post?

It was a legal parking space on the end of a row, but not protected, just stripes imitating an island.

Over 3 Grand just for door and mirror, possibly broken window? That's too much.

As long as you're not the one who's paying, that's all that matters, right?

The door was barley touched, the door frame was bent were the mirror mounts by three bolts, possibly if it was a folding mirror, the mounting point would not have bent the upper part of the door.

NJERALD, in person you may be very nice, but you come off in a bad light on your posts, I am sure you do not mean to appear so arrogant, and demeaning.

Will your car get a salvage title because of the amount of repair?

No, the only damage is to the door, you just put on a new door and paint it.

Salvage is for major frame damage, like cutting of the crashed front of a car and welding on a new front from a car that was totaled and in a junk yard.

The shop is just trying to rape the insurance company.

At least he doesn't have to pay for it.

The insurance adjuster has to approve the repair with the Body shop, everybody is scratching each others back, and keeps our insurance rates higher.

Exactly. But some insurance companies have their own body shops that they are linked to and only let you bring your car to those.
