Annoying squeaking sound coming from engine (2003)

Hey guys! I've been a lurker on the forums and have been trying to learn more about my car.

Recently my car has started making a very noticeable annoying squeaking sound when I start it up. It can be heard when idling and when I'm driving. I opened my hood and it seems like its coming around the left side of the engine near the belt.

I tried the search function and didn't find much except one guy said he replaced his serpentine *sp?* belt and he got rid of a squeaking sound that he got during idle. A friend of mine suggested that I need to have my transmission checked out.

Any comments/suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!

Put a little water on your belt and pulleys. If it goes away, get a new belt........

^spray is temporary. the belt isn't that much of a dent in the wallet considering its purpose and its lifespan. heck, a tank of gas costs more. haha.

here's the diy (in my sig).
