Can't find oil filter location.

I have a 04 Camry LE, basically the 4 Cylinder version and I can't seem to locate the oil filter anywhere.

I have done a search, both google and on this site but unfortunately, I can only find results on the V6 version of the Camry's (Camries?).

I just bought this car and the previous owner said that he have not done an oil change in over 6k miles. The oil is currently also drained from the car, I do not want to add oil to the car until I change the oil filter, can someone please help me locate the oil filter? If you have pictures of where it's located or a shop manual then that would be great, if not, just point me in the general direction as to where it's located.

Thanks in advance.

when you are under the car, the oil filter is further up into the engine bay to the right of the oil pan.

My oil filter don't look like that. But than I have the gen6 V6 Camry. LOL

For OP, http://www.camrystuff.com/index.php?page=Gen5_Manuals Look at #17. That should help. If not, I seriously advice U to pull in the new oil and drive it to the dealer for a normal oil + filter change. U can ask them to point U where the filter is while you are at it.

be easy man, no one was born with the knowledge of how to change your own oil/oil filter. We all learned by trial and error, or someone else teaching us.

Try removing the "air deflector" between the bumper and engine area......

Don't pay attention to the jokes. As someone who has changed my own oil for 20+ years on 1st look I couldn't see the filter on this one either. So crawl under the car. If you jack it up make sure you have reliable stands and the rear wheel secured. You don't want to die for $20. There is the plastic part behind the front bumper. Then behind that you see the oil pan. The filter is essentially between these two. It just sits higher and not visible easily. If you look up vertically you will see it in the front of the pan and behind the air deflector.
