Turn Signal Flasher

So I'm converting my rear turn signal to led and my front turn signal to switchback (lights up white but when turn signal is used, turns to amber). I know I can use load resistors and splicing the wires with the supplied blue taps. But instead of using load resistors, how easy is it to get to the turn signal flasher? I know its inside the dash but can I get to it by removing the instrument cluster or do I have to remove the entire dashboard to access it.

Also which flasher is inside the dash?

You can access the relay by removing the instrument cluster. I'll see if I can find where one member did this.

Thanks. It would be helpful if you can find it. Also, would you happen to know the part number for the flasher?

I know. tell me about it. But it doesnt seem so hard to remove the instrument panel. Just need to find out how the flasher looks like so I can order the right part that works for LEDs

I can just simple connect load resistors but with the front always on (or when I have the lights on), the resistors would be hot within 30 seconds. Replacing the flasher so I dont hyper flash, this would eliminate any splicing of wires or the resistor accidentally touching plastic/wires and melting them.

Never dabbled with this much modification before so this is all new territory to me...especially anything to do with wiring on a car.

PND5, the link he posted above. Only thing is, people will have different choices of bulbs. Like for the turn signal, Paul bought the same bulbs and said it doesnt fit (slides off after a min of driving). Plus, others may prefer different bulbs. Finding bulb size can be found by going to http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

People will prefer superbrightleds, autolumination, v-leds or even cheapo eBay. Not all are the same.

Like for the door courtesy, you can get FLANK bulbs that disperse light sideways rather than from the top.

Nah. No need. Just more clutter.

Also, from what I have read, the CF18 flasher unit disables the parking lights from flashing. So when you arm/disarm your parking lights flash. When you have the CF18 flasher installed, it doesnt flash anymore

Just put the other one in the Gen5 and 6 info section.

I hate messing with wires. I'm too paranoid and think that my car will catch on fire one day while i'm driving.
