Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm saving up money to get my lip kit painted. On average, how much did you guys have to pay for your kit to get painted and possibly installed professionaly? And if you got your entire car re-painted, how much did it cost?
I found a place about 30 mins from my house and I got qouted for 600 on the lip kit + installation.
Also, I'm thinking of getting the entire car painted because I Know for a fact that the lipkit color will not match my car's faded white paint. But then again I'm also thinkin against it because it might cost a little too much.
Posting pix of the unpainted kit soon, just have too much work/skool lately.
Pleas re-paint the entire car. I had a friend who wanted to be cheap and just get the kit painted, so soon after everyone took notice of his new two tone paint job. Dont do that to yourself, or to your car.
And are you keeping the paint job factory? If so it shouldnt be too expensive, but if i were to repaint my entire car id get a custom job and make it worth the money. All depends on the type of paint also... Alot of factors, but it shouldnt be more than $2000 entire car factory paint and kit install

i agree. if u have a good painter he will get it matched perfectly. if not then he will blend the rest. according to what people say here, my guy would have had to paint my whole bumber when i had the scratch. instead he send, primed, and just painted the corner and blended the rest. its perfect. you would never say it has been painted unless u read this.
since youre in texas, pm a member here by the name of krouchchocolate. he got his rksport kit painted for pretty cheap. he is from houston.
btw, you don't need to waste money and repaint your entire car. just find a good paintshop that can match the faded paint. the shop that painted my ride took about 1 extra day to make sure they had it paint matched perfectly since my car has already faded. I don't use a garage and my car's always out in the sun at home and at work.
My car is an 02 and it's not that badly faded at all. I just know it's not as bright as the original Super White color since my mom has a new 09 corolla and when I park right beside her, my car is a little duller in white than hers. Thanks for the info guys but I don' think I'll be able to spend 2K on paint alone haha. And thanks for the info Tojan, will do.

Cant really compare a 02 with a 09. Paint color and quality of paint has changed over the 7 years
Is this guy in Richmond? I'm in Chester so could you let me know which shop you are talking about?
The guy is Stephen. He works with his Grandfather, at NRS auto repair.
Its located behind Unique Auto Sales (same building, use to Charlie Falk) about a block North of Turner road, across the street from IHOP. Tell him, Joe sent ya, "the old guy with the Camrys" He'll treat ya right.

You take buffing compound to your whole car, it will get rid of the yellowing effect your white paint has experienced over the past 7 years, and make it bright white like it was new.
