Anyone have Toyota Reprogram their ECM for Larger tires?
Just upgraded to 225-55R-17's (Goodyears) from LE stocker Turanzas 215-55R-16's. I know I'll have to get the new TPMS sensors reprogrammed by Toyota so I thought I'd get them to adjust my speedometer if programming is available for it. According to the wheel tire calculator I'm off about 2%+ because of the larger tires. Anyone know if there is a speedo adjustment available or do I just need to ignore the 2% error. As always, thanks guys!!

Your stock LE tires size should be 215-60-16.

lammydl, your absolutely right. They are 215-60-16's. I've been doing research and I've got (55) on the brain after looking at so many different sizes. Thanks!

You're welcome.
Here is a quick comparision.
215-60-16= 26.16 overall diameter inches Gen6 LE
215-55-17= 26.31 Gen6 SE
225-55-17= 26.74
Overall, you increased 2.2% from 26.16 to 26.74. You're fine. Don't waste your money try to reprogram the speedometer.

Sounds like good advice. I've spent enough money already.

I was curious about this as well. But if you consider that mileage has a significant impact on resale value, if someone has a setup that is smaller than stock, they will end up with a higher odometer reading than what it should be. It may not be very much, but still.

I usually go with larger overall diameter for one reason. "Fill the wheel gap"!
