5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
What would be needed to convert the front and rear end of the 6th gen camry into an austrailian market Aurion? From the looks of it the front would require ; hood, fenders, grille, headlights (and associated brackets), radiator support, bumper support(but I assume a modified usdm support can work as well), headlight harness', foglights and associated harness' are optional.
For the rear I would think the trunk, lights and harness', rear bumper, rear bumper support as well.
Does this sound about right? I was reading on wikipedia that the overall body is the same with different front and rear fascias. I figure work will need to be done to the rear quarters to fit the wider outer taillights but for the most part everything else is bolt on.
I'm going to be looking for a new daily shortly and I wouldn't mind keeping it in the camry family but I'm not a fan of our body style so if anyone has some input on this it would be greatly appreciated.
Please no comments about get an es350 instead or its a waste of money. Those don't help me in my search for info. Thanks guys
Btw yes I did try searching.

Here's my camry ^
Current: B+G Springs, KYB GR2 Struts, Erebuni Bodykit(uninstalled), 3SGTE/E52 swap, Crane HI-6S Ignition Box, Crane Timing Retard Controller.
Plans: Here
Actually if you looked down a few threads from this one there is already a forum about this and we have already covered most everything you would need for the conversion. Here's the link incase you're "searching powers" fail you again:
Original parts from Toyota Aus tend to vary between "not cheap" and "omgwtf". Even without the cost of shipping such a conversion would be prohibitively expensive. They only way it could possibly become viable is if you get a damaged Camry cheap and use Aurion parts to repair it instead.
If you really want an Aurion, I'd suggest looking at importing a car from the middle east. What are the US "grey import" laws like?
I typed in the search. "Aurion conversion" and nothing came up the two times I tried searching. I tried aurion alone and nothing came up. Anyway since the people who can't afford to do much to their cars have spoken thanks to everyone else who offered good advice. I know shipping from aus can add up. I have a brother statined in japan right now so I'm not so worried about the shipping. I just wanted to know about the parts necessary for the conversion. Now I know what I need. The plan was to buy a damed camry and fix it with aurion parts all along. Thanks for the help guys.

Well good luck with your plans. It's not going to be cheap because as Asteroid said, Toyota genuine parts in Australia are pretty expensive especially with the exchange rate not in your favour anymore, but I'm guessing that this obviously isn't an issue for you.

To the OP: You can do anything if you have the money for it. If you really want to do this a are capable of doing it, then i suggest you just import a whole one like Asteroid said.
