I was wondering if you guy might know what might be creating this weird smell when I turn off the AC in our 07 Camry? The air smells perfectly normal when the AC is on, however after turning it off it smells weird for a few minutes.
Where are you located? Earth really dowsn't cut it. Humid or not? Humidity condenses and drains out through the fire wall below evaporator. Let car idle for a few with the a/c on and see if you have water dipping out. If not, and if humid enough to condense moisture on a cold glass of tea, then loo for the drain and unplug it.

i too have a peculiar smell for the first few minutes after the a/c has been turned off. it reminds me of the masks i am sometimes required to wear at work ( i work in healthcare ). and this has led me to believe that what we're smelling is acutually the air filter media and the chemicals used to treat it.
my drain works just fine...
to further narrow this down i would look into removing the cabin air filter and seeing if the smell is still there.

no.. those r components. Check page "AC-14". Thats the airway diagram. I am guessing the evaporator grill is where the 'smell' likely to come from. Or the airway itself.
