Hi, I'm new to this forum and did a search using "folding seat", "rear seats", and "back seat" and still can't find the info I want. I am interested in the new '10 Camry SE 4-cyl now that it's available with a 6spd manual. However, the thing holding me back is that the rear seat doesn't fold down. Unfortunately, in Canada, the SE is the only model available in manual transmission. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert the rear seat on the SE so that it can fold down? I'm sorry if it's been answered or asked before, but I couldn't find anything on it. I just found some info from the Corolla section which says that the XRS wasn't able to fold down and you have to fabricate some hook for it if the folding seats were purchased. Not sure if that also applies to the Camry. Has anyone attempted to change the rear seats to folding seats?
Yep, The SE has extra Sheet Metal forming a "V" brace behind the seat to stiffen the body. A folding seat would be pointless because the brace is there.

i would love the brace from the SE. its not like i could fold my seats anyway and i doubt the reclining is enough to keep the brace from being mounted properly.
Thanks for the answer everyone. I'm guessing I'll have to decide whether I'll get a Camry or not then. I need the folding seat but I will not buy an automatic and it seems that in Canada, that would be how I have to get folding seats.
