Canada Rattling noises

2010 Camry SE,

I took my car to the dealer the other day. The car over certain roads sounds like a kid playing cheap plastic drums. It only started after about 1000kms on the car and I am only at 1600kms now.

A Tech went with me for a test drive and he noticed it right away said "wow that must be annoying". "But what do you expect with all this plastic." I won't repeat the words I used in response, in this forum. Anyway he said not to worry they had a lot of that in the 07 and a few of the 08. Said plastic window clips for alignment are part of the problem and they will probably have to pull the dash and spray some foam in the back of it. Even squeaking and rattle coming from back of car.

Well the upside is they are going to fix it, and they will provide me a loaner car, had to ask for that though, actually demand it. The real bummer I am not the happiest of having a new car pulled apart.

Have any of you other owners had this problem? An did they fix it? An if so, did it actually correct the problem for good?

Happy driving.

I have a 2008 SE and my driver side door rattles from time to time and cant seem to handle the factory base without vibrating. The sunroof also rattles occasionally but not to the point where it drives me crazy. I plan to take my car in to have the driver side door looked at because there are some days i just cant deal with it.

I'm a few moths away from putting a new kit and paint job on the car. I hope i dont regret investing that money into it...

Yikes, I am not going to give up on this or they will keep the car. Sorry that happened with you.

This really is not a livable issue and I hope yours is not that bad. At least they heard this.

Happy driving.

I had multiple rattling noises when my 07 Camry was new and I had to go in several times. Some rattles and squeaks still remain because the dealer claims claims they can't reproduce it, or that it's within "normal specification."

Don't be surprised if you never resolve these noises fully.

I have an 08 Camry Hybrid and am also putting up with a myriad of noises. It's driving me mad. Were you dealing with a mechanic in the GTA? Could you give me the name of the dealership and the name of the individual who was helping you?

I'm asking because I've been given the run-around at two dealerships, telling me they can't fix the rattles and that "I'll have to learn to live with them." At least you service center / mechanic was going to try and help.

Thanks.

Sorry Bad news not in Toronto. In Montreal and dealer is Spinnelli. They have many dealerships selling many different types of cars. lexus, toyota, honda, nissan for example and more than one place. They have made a business out of making people happy, or trying. The sales man has even phoned me back several times concerened. They know it is real.

Sorry I could not be more help, may I suggest contacting Toyota Canada? 1-800-661-3062 That is the financial services. The joke is they always let you talk to who you want. Best way to get to the heart of a company.

EDIT: sorry Yes Spinellitoyota.com and the tech in charge I talked to was John we went for a test drive together. Try starting with Elmas Possian service rep. 1-800-326-1510 that is my local dealer and that John is Polish decent. Maybe they can help but not sure.

I spent days at the dealer fixing rattles from a multitude of sources, and I was far too tired to take it back for more.

I have one near my left speaker, one under my transmission lever, and I'm not going to bother. I just keep the music on.
