Gen5 What should I get at 100k Service 02 camry se.

I',m not to savy with car maintanance. I do oil chage with good filter and rotate tires and that is it.

Toyota has been good for me, but I think IT can use some TLC before Something goes wrong.

I'm not planning to sell this car at all. I want to see how long it will last~

I appreciate all your info and comments, Thank you for sharing any input.1

My faithful, everlasting camry just passed over 100k.

My mechanic is a family friend and charge really low rate, but he is so damn busy, if i say " 100k miles service, he might not do some other things. ( like some mech will replace water pump because it's gotta go time soon)

The car runs fine except .. catalist coverter light is on.. + white puff of smoke at the start.

I'm changing spark plugs to NGK Iridium IX.

I think I need coolent flish because it's pretty dark...

what else do i need?

Transmission flush?

Brake fluid?

Serapin Belt was replaced at 80k.

Anything else? water filter...pump?

A/C.. is it samething if i charge at auto shop and top it off with from can from home?

Thank you so much!!

Is it a V6 or an I4?

If it's a V6 do the timing belt and water pump.

Do a tranmission service for sure.

do a flush and fill on the rad as well...

There is a maintenance schedule in your owners manual, or online too.

Also time to change the car battery, maybe stabilizer bushing front & back, brake service, engine wash and more to keep your car in tip top shape.

If you have either an owners manual or a maintainence book that states what needs to be done at each
maint. interval. I would go by that. I can post up later on what my GEN6 book states.
Here is a good thread on TN. Maintenance @100K : 04 SE, 2.4L

It needs a good visual inspection.
-check for oil leaks
-check cv boots
-check hydraulic brake components for leakage. Consider flushing
-check brake pad wear
-check light bulbs for function
-check filters
-flush and replace nasty coolant
-flush transmission
-check pvc valve for function
-pull valve cover and check for sludging
-replace belts if showing wear
-replace coolant and heater hoses if aging

Others' advice are great. I'd drop the ATF pan and change out the strainer as well. Fram ATF kit works well like $15-20.

The concern is with the "white smoke" at start up. This should be white smoke with a bluish tint, which we call "blue smoke". This means your valve stem seals are leaking and could use replacing while doing a timing job.

White smoke may indicate coolant leak into cylinders (head gasket or cracked engine block), neither is good news. So look at the smoke color again. Are you using coolant? I hope not. Black coolant is not good news. Coolants don't turn black when they get old, not that I know of.

So focus on the integrity of the head gasket first. After you rule that out, change out the maintenance parts including the radiator hoses. I'd recommend Gates belts and hoses from your local NAPA store. NGK Iridium-IX is great stuff. Good pick. Love them.

Gen 5 has a timing chain not a timing belt from what I understand.
