Gen6 Help with removing back seat.

Help... I try to remove my back seat.. I already remove the 4 screws and able to pull the bottom out but something on the top is still holding the seat in. Could someone that already removed their Camry '07 SE V6 seat, please give me some advice/instructions on how to remove it.

I looked in the camrystuff pdf file on removing the back seat and all it shows are these 4 screws. My back seat is the non reclining and non folding. It's the only dumb seat that nothing can be adjust. I did pull the seat belt to the side but something is still holding the top of the seat in.

Thanks a bunch.

Yes I did do the search but got "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /usr/home/toyotanation/public_html/forum/search.php on line 1036"

BTW, wow the spot light for the back passenger got extremely hot when I was leaving the door open trying to remove the back seat. It was hot to the touch and I only felt the plastic cover of it. Guess I'll go with LED on that one next. aarrggg... how can they install something so extremely hot next to plastic?

========== Update ===========

I found a more detailed illustration. I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks.

if memory serves me right you have to push the seats up a little to unhook them.
Hope that helps

I did try that. Slide my fingers into the bottom of the back surport and press myself to it than lift, it didn't give.

Do I need to remove the bottom cushion first?

yes pull the bottom seat out first so you can get a better grip from top and bottom. then pull it up and toward you.

Just goes to prove that a Service Manual even with pictures and instructions is useless to some.....

Tint the rear glass? Wouldn't it be easier to just remove the rear deck ? or are you removing the rear seat to get to the rear deck?

well I'll have you reduce the amount of crazy work you have to do.
  1. Open both rear doors
  2. Pull the gasket off (not completely off, only enough so it exposes the c-pillars)
  3. Remove the pillars on both sides
  4. Grab a hold of the deck towards the middle and lift up towards the roof ( It's held down by a few clips)
  5. There you go

The c-pillar are on the two sides of the rear windshield?

I get really scared everytime I hear 'pull' and 'it held by clips'. I broke so many of those clips.

Thanks buddy. I'll try it.
