5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've recently purchased a 2002 Toyota Camry SE. The car has a stock radio and off from ebay i purchased the factory navigation from a 2002 toyota camry SE. The unit arrived, but it doesn't come with the plugs. I went to the toyota auto parts and they said i would either have to purchase the whole hardness with the plugs and it would come really expensive. I just need the radio to play cd's, i don't really care that much about the nav. What do u guys recommend? and where would i be able to get the plugs and if you guys think it would work?
I already took it apart but the hardness don't match and it has alot of plugs i don't even know which one is the correct one. This is what the unit I got looks like.
thats the problem right there... the nav head unit is a JBL head unit and your stock head unit is non-JBL. You lack the necessary amplifier and associated harnesses to use the JBL unit in your car.

So what do u think i should do in regards of installing this navigation unit??
well, if you are sure you do not have the correct wire harness, aka do not have the JBL package, just se if u can return it. If not, sell it and try to recoupe what you paid. It is not worth it otherwise
in order for the unit to turn on you will need to use the memory wire, power wire and ground, and you are using 6 speaker, that mean wire the 6 output speaker wires to your speaker.
that should work right??? slipt the wire directly from the unit to the factory harness

I think that should work am just confused am going to look over where i could find the adapters with the wires that come out from the unit. am so stress i want to install it as soon as i can if possible.
usually there arent any harnesses that come out of the unit. its not like an aftermarket headunit where you spice together wires. This unit was made so that you plug the wire harnesses directly from the car into the unit.
Thanx to your advice i was able to installed the unit. I was able to get the plug and adapter from a link you provided me. I contacted the person and paid with paypal.
