Was hit the other day on the driver side left rear bumper, but right in the corner, and i have a nice dent, hollow socket there. you know, that part of the bumper where where is no metal and where it is hollow.
the other driver who hit me, all-state, gave me $500.00 check to fix it, but i think this job may cost me more.
can they just pull out that dent? or do they have to remove the entire bumper, put in oven , let is pop out, then repaint it?

pics? I think I have an idea of what your talking about.
Im sure there gonna have to take the bumper off to pop it back out and then do all the prep work + painting it. Not sure about prices in the states but that would cost more than $500 in Canada. Considering most shops charge an average $400 here to get your bumper resprayed!

A similer thing happend to me, someone backed into my rear bumper and dented it and scraped it. And the autobody I brought my car to , took the bumper off, fixed the tabs that were broken that hold the bumper to the plastic rail behind each rear fender, poped the dent out sanded it, primed it, painted and clear coated it and blended the paint and clearcoat perfectly for $492.00. BTW it was on the driverside corner and I have the SE and they had to take off the bodykit off of the bumper too to do the work. You would never know that it was hit. It was an eye sore to me so I had it fixed and the estimate was $500 so that sounds about right. But a pic would help too. It was in the shop for 2.5 days. Just by reading your post mine was in the exact same spot, because I could push the bumper in my hand. Hope this info helps.

Just another, woe is me, monthly dented bumper cover thread.........
Although you are very knowledgeable why knock others when you could help
them. Maybe he should have searched to find the answer maybe not. I figure
if I have the knowledge to , help someone out, I will so they will learn.

pop it out yourself and live with it.. thats what i did to my car.. you live in NYC(as do I) and it will happen again lol
Yeah, we who live in New York City, have to live with fender benders as they happen every day all the time and every day is a gamble who will be next. lol.
I think i may just use that dry ice trick and pop it out. hahaha.
actually, if i fix that and like a new car, only a matter of time in NYC, that sh%^t happends again.
one reason i am hesitatant to buy a new car even deals are fantastic now.

Dry ice will only work with metal. I like the idea of using a hair dryer and pushing it out with your hand.
x2... just heat the bumper up or wait until a hot day, then push it out from below.. I had to use a stick because my arm wouldnt reach all the day due to obstacles
if u can't find someone to do this for a good price and ur willing to come down to N.J. then im sure my paint guy can do it for that price and he is anal so u won't notice a thing. if u come to the tristate meet on sunday ill show you how good he did my bumper.

dont use a stick because when you push it out there is oing to be a mark of the stick poping out or cause a hole
