5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hi everybody, I'm looking to purchase a cold air intake system for my '09 Camry. So far, the only listing is a K&N 69 Typhoon Series for about $320.00. My budget is kind of low, but if it's recommended I would buy a more expensive part. (I rather a less costing part though.)
Any suggestions and comments on what I should do? This will be the first part I buy for my brand new car. Help please...
It's not going to void your warranty, only if the intake causes some damage to the car, or you do when you install it, but that's very unlikely since it's just piping with a cone style filter.
Go for the intake, it's not as if there's too many engine performance parts for the V6 anyways, so there's not a lot else to spend it on, other then custom stuff of course.

Please explain to me how that will void your warentee?
I was getting a oil change and the mechanic at toyota dealer ship say hey you got a different filter and i say yes i did. and im about to get the intake from k&n too, and he tell me oh, you know you should wait till your warranty is up because its going to void it.

Go to a different dealership for service if it involves more then an oil change.
