5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I own camry 08 se v6 with 17300k miles it feels like my rear shocks need to be replaced. You can hear and feel it on any road that is not in very good condition. Please tell me that it's not normal for shocks to go bad on camry after only 17k
Toyota had mount problems with Gen4 in the front and rear mount problems with Gen5. TSBs and free replacements of mounts. You would think by Gen6 rear mount problems were fixed? These struts should last at least 30-50K miles without losing too much damping.
Well, Camry's quality has been slowing going down over the years. I wonder if your engine has the same head bolt failure potential. So a worn shock or bad mount is probably the least of your worries. But take it back for warranty replacement.

someone else (here) told me that the car has 6 bushing locations... 2 front, 2 middle and 2 rear. I have not verified this info...since i have not gotten my car repaired yet, but this might be the source of ur issue. good luck and yes, please let us know the outcome. Thanks!

Update:Took car to dealer and they didn't find anything wrong They said my right ream is damaged(if it was, i would feel vibration during all the time, i don't). They adviced to get balance/alignment done. I got that checked and it's perfect. So basically this dealer was to lazy to look for problem i am gessing. Will take it to different dealer in next couple of days.

Well, if the struts weren't doing this before and started to feel like they're going bad, then they probably are. You can call the Toyota hotline and explain this to them. Maybe they can better help.
