2002 Camry making a helicopter/humming noise

We purchased a 2002 Camry 4 cyl LE about 6 months ago with 26,000 miles on it. A month or so later we have been hearing this helicopter or humming noise. You can really hear it if you let off on the accelarator especially around 45 mph. Can barely hear it when ideling.

This is my first Toyota

Any ideas?

2002 intake manifold had a buzzing noise problem. there was a technical service bulletin on it, but I would think the previous owner got it fixed free? No?

Where does the noise seem to come from (watch the road, too)?

Since there is a known issue with the intake mainfold, I would take a lot at that first. Look to see if it is lose or ill fiting and make sure that it is secured properly. If that doesn't helppen up the hood and listen to it at idle to see if you can locate the sound. Since you said it's very quite at idle, have someone rev the engine gently and see what you come up with.

I dont really now what the problem could be, this is just what I would do to try and figure it out, short of bringing into the shop that is. Good luck
