Gen6 Alarm Issue - 2007 LE

Here is my issue....when windows are rolled down and someone unlocks the car through the window without the remote...should the alarm not go off? This is the factory alarm, and on ALL other cars I have seen with factory cars the alarm goes off....even the manual says that the alarm should go off if opened without the use of the remote...

Could there be something wrong with my alarm??

Are you sure you aren't confusing the keyless entry with a factory installed alarm system???

Does your car have an alarm, or just the factory installed keyless entry system? Keyless entry is not an alarm.

Hey I also have the factory keyless entry only set up. But when I lock the car, the light in the middle of the dashboard (security symbol) blinks. does any one elses? I always wondered if I had a factory security system (not on the bill of sale).

That indicates that the engine immobilizer is active. It's not to be confused with a security system. Good question though.
