Problem with my radio...2009 LE

Hello, I just got my new 09 Camry about 2 weeks ago. There is a problem with the radio, it fades in and out when I'm driving and stepping on the break. I know its not bad reception, because I never had this problem in any other car I have been in.

Can anyone help me out as to why this is happening? I am taking it in, but i want to know ahead of time if possible in case they try to screw me over.

Thanks!

ASL, either lower the setting or turn it off completely.

ASL? Is that the setting with Bass, Treb, Mid? I'm not to familiar with the radios and settings, I normally just put it on and jam out! haha

The volume will change with speed. It's a feature. Anyone know how to turn that off ?

Does it do it just on radio or does it do the same thing with a CD ?

I should have done research, sorry everyone. But can it be taken off? I cant figure it out.

This has come up in other Toyotas - some have a three-level setting for ASL, some are just ON/OFF kind of thing. Only a few have noticed any difference in sound volume. It is supposed to change with vehicle speed - but only a few can tell that it works. Same deal with RDS on some - some get the information, some do not. My Matrix works just fine with RDS but lacks the ASL option - other car that I used to drive had it - I don't miss it at all.

Yes, it's really easy. press the right knob until "ASL" appears on the screen, then turn that same knob until it displays "OFF"

voila.

Let the dealer deal with it. That's what your warranty is for. Take them for a ride and show them the problem. They will probably just order you a new audio unit.

Does anyone still read the manual before complaining publicly?

I don't think they do. I read my owners manual cover to cover the first night I had my car. I waited two weeks and re-read the entire manual again. I guess most people don't want to know how everything works like I do.
