Front speakers

Went to crutchfield and it says the front door can take 6in speaker but it tells me that this wont fit.

Any ideas why?? Or any recommendations on a good set of fronts to run off my Alpine 9887?? Im just trying to upgrade from the factory spkrs..not looking for components. Thanks

because of the mounting depth.

speakers listed have a depth of 2 and 3/8 in, while the door itself is less than that. I forgot what the actual mounting depth is for us, but anything greater than what is suggested by Crutchfield will get in the way of the window rolling up and down.

i bought speaker adapters off of a guy on ebay he makes them specially for our cars, i bought 6x9s for the front and back the back ones work good. the front ones i installed 6x9s with those adapters and where the speaker grill part is there's a little gap. I recently just put in some 6.5" components speakers and bought 6.5" speaker adapters off him and they fit and work great now. just type in camry 07-09 speaker adpaters on ebay.

Should I get the 5 1/4 front spkr instead (crutchfield says it fits) or find a different 6.5 spkr??

6.5 will fit, but u will have to make a baffle for it.
