Here is a DIY that I made up at another site (9thgen corolla dot com) that should help you out. It sounds like the rear badge is the same as the one on the corolla. The DIY is also for the other badges, but the center rear Toyota emblem is also covered... Enjoy
This is a very simple DIY but for those like me that like all the details and pictures here you go...
This is basically the same thing as removing the side moldings so some of the pics will be the same as that DIY.
First start off by washing your car good then gather the stuff you'll need.
1. Fishing line or dental floss work well.
2. A hair dryer to heat things up if necessary. I didn't need it, but you might if your emblems are being difficult.
3. Goo Gone or something similar to remove the adhesive residue.
Get your dental floss or fishing line and start at one end using a sawing motion with light pressure. Slowly work your way across the emblem until it comes off.
It's as simple as that. Continue on taking off the emblems you want removed.
The next few pics instructions are for the rear center emblem. Not everyone will want to take this one off so skip past it if you want. I removed mine because I wanted to paint it and put a piece of carbon fiber behind it so that I could break up the color a bit.
The rear center emblem was a little more tricky. You don't want to go down to far with your dental floss/fishing line. In the pic below you can see where I stopped. You don't want to try and go any farther than that because you will just run into one of the prongs on the back of the emblem that will stop you anyway. And you also take the chance of cutting into the paint on the side of the emblem if you go to far because the area around the emblem starts to come out farther than the emblem and if you go to far your dental floss/fishing line will cut into the paint.
After you have cut through the adhesive to the point in the above pic you will need to use both hands and slowly pull the top of the emblem away from the trunk. Use your fingernails at first and pry it away. You will see it start to separate from the adhesive below where you used the dental floss/fishing line. Don't rush it, let the adhesive slowly break away as you pull and you'll be done. In the pic below I was only using one hand because the other had to take the picture
In the pic below you can see where the holes are that the prongs from the emblem sit in. I didn't have much residue from the adhesive from this emblem. But if you do the next step below is what to do for that.
Same basic thing for getting rid of the excess adhesive as the side moldings. I didn't take a picture of it when I did the rear emblems so here's a pic of how I did it on the side moldings. I just rolled the excess off with my thumb.
Then take your Goo Gone or similar stuff and remove the rest of the residue. Wash again in the areas you were working. Wax it up and your done.
Personalise yours how you want. I took all of mine off because I wanted to do some painting. I've seen all kinds of variations as far as what to take off. What to change etc...
I've changed my rear emblems several times but this is what I have now.
My car was dirty and it just finished raining but this is how it looks today.
For reapplying any emblems etc you can find some double sided molding tape at most auto stores. I didn't care for the stuff I found at the auto parts store. So I went looking on ebay and found some 4"X6" sheets of 3M OEM double sided molding tape. There wasn't alot of it listed but I'm sure it shows up pretty regularly.
