need a little info

hi all,
I just purchased a 2010 Camry XLE w/ the 4 cylinder engine. I always do my own oil changes but am having trouble finding the oil filter wrench for the new 2.5 engine that uses the disposable element filter. The dealer says it's $70+ for the "Toyota special tool" Anybody out there have an alternate source and specs on what size it is. TIA.

Word of advice, it would be helpful to do a search on the forum. If your oil filter is now like the 2GR-FE (v6) oil filter, this is what you need. There is a PDF floating around in this forum showing how to change it.

What size oil filter wrench 2007 V6
Use a 65mm/67mm cap-style oil filter wrench ($4 at Wal-Mart) and the 3/8” socket wrench and extension to remove the housing. Turn counterclockwise and withdraw it completely.

Assenmacher TOY640 Wrench
Assenmacher TOY640 (mine was different. In the center, it was round and an opening. The image below shows its covered and square). Since mine has no square center for a socket wrench, I used a 15/16 wrench that went around the area. Its pricey but fits perfectly.

Not sure if the layout is the same as the 07-09 4 cylinder 2.4 liter 2AZ engine, but I suspect it is. I use this Lisle oil filter wrench:

I think his is not the one you use. His is a disposable filter element. No canister like FRAM or anything like that.

He said his car is an I4. For the 07-09 model years the disposable filter element was only used on the V6 Camrys, not the I4's. Did that change for 2010 with the new 2.5 liter I4?

He said that he always does his oil changes. So he should have the tools for that if it was using oil filter canisters. He mentioned oil filter wrench, disposable filter element, and "Toyota Special Tool"
