5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I recently bought a 03 Camry and is thinking about putting on some bigger rims and tires. i was looking at getting these rims and a set of 225/45/18 tires. now I’m not too clear on the process, I have read some of the post and believe these should fit without rub and I would not need spacers or anything (i hope). However people are telling me the rims might not match because of center cap size difference and lug nut size??? What size lug nuts should I get and what is the process to buying rims and tires and making sure it fits
Generally the numbers you want to look at are the rim width and the offset. If you're between +35 - +45 offset, depending on what width the rim is, you'll be fine. If your car is lowered you may have to roll you rear fenders with +35 to avoid rubbing.
As stated above you lug pattern is 5 x 114.3
For example, my rims (see sig pic) are 19x8 +48 offset, and i'm lowered, so i rolled my fenders to prevent rubbing.

the rim are 5x114.3, however i was told by people to buy the rims befor buying the tuner lug nuts. i was told to buy matching tuner lug nuts, how do i tell which lug nut set to buy. would these work?
thanks, that's what i was looking for. so i can buy any set off of ebay as long as the thread size matches right? and what color lug nuts you guys think would match the rims (my car is about the same color), i was thinking black
No, there's nothing to roll in the front..it's all flush.
what your tire size?
and if you lower -- you're going to rub if you're on coils... they push your offset out just a few mm more, I have 225/45/18's and they rub like hell if they are not 2 finger height, but luckily -- handling at 2 finger height is WAY better than 1 or tucked.
