Save your money, I have a 2009 Camry XLE with JBl and Navigation and I can tell you that Toyota has the worst Navigation I have come across.
I am comparing it to the Factory Navigation in my 2003 Dodge Ram, the Factory Navigation in my wife’s 2006 Honda Odyssey, and the Garmin’s that I have owned.
Why do I hate it?
1) You can't do any looking up or switching directions unless the vehicle is stopped. You can't get in your phone book, look for restaurants, hotels etc while the car is in motion.
2) Work arounds have not worked, I burned the DVD and while it works for a while, the disc gets really hot and then it starts acting weird after a few days.
3) It cuts off the song titles with Sirius XM, my Wife's Honda does a better job but not as good as the Dodge did in handling song and artist info.
My advice is save your money you can get a nice Garmin for a few hundred (search online or Sam's / Costco for deals) and you will have a far superior GPS.

1) Since he's installing it after, he can easily get it to work while the car is in motion.
2) Disc acts weird in a few days. Not a lot of people complained about this, so I'm sure its an isolated incident.
3) Song titles do get cut off. Since it can't fit on the screen....
And yes, he can get a Garmin and save a money. But since he's looking at indash units, stock ones in particular, I'm sure he wants to get one of these three.
Good luck!
