Gen5 CAI + Low Idle Problem

A friend and I were installing a custom made CAI into a 2.4L I4 Camry today. Everything was going good until the pipe holding the Mass Air Flow Sensor was dropped. We finished with the installation and the car would crank but turn off intermediately. It sounded weird. The first thing that occurred to us was that the MAF sensor was dropped. So we assembled the stock intake and started the car. The car started but it was idling at lower rpms the normal. usually a little under 1000 but not its in the low 600s or less. Rough idle. The car seems to be in safety mode. Could this be a signal that the MAF was damaged?
The car gave the same problem once during a drop in filter change, had to take it to the dealer and pay like 300 for the fix. Any comments would help. Thanks.

No, didn't reset the ecu. Do i Pull the EFI Fuse for a minute or leave the negative battery terminal off for 10 minutes to properly reset it?

It has like 106k, i've put like 12k miles on it

Well during the installation we took the battery completely out for a good hour, so didn't it reset itself either way?

^well in that case, it's the driving-around-for-a-few-minutes that's missing. the ecu was reset indeed.
