Gen5 Smog related question...swapped engine 06 camry

I swapped engines on my 06 camry with another 2azfe. Old engine had cracked bottom block. Installed engine came out of a 05 scion tc, CA engine. I have not had issues at all, except I should've replaced the tq converter seal. It's leaking a little. Anyways, for the upcoming smog inspetion, I'm sure it will pass. What I would like to know is, will I have any issues with the smog inspector failing me for not having the original engine or will it not even matter as long as it passes the smog inspection? Will there be any issues or problems when I go smog it? Links to smog laws would help out as well. Thanks.

Probably no one knows. I think I recall reading that the engine is supposed to be the same year or newer and that all the smog related equipment is supposed to be transferred from the donor car also. I'm not certain though as I've not done an engine swap.

Why don't you just ask the guys who do the tests?

That is exactly what I was going to do. I'm not going to mention anything. Just let the smog tech do what he does and I'm just gonna stand back and watch.

Yeah your replacement engine is the same as your old one, it's also still running all the original pollution gear. There shouldn't be any problem at all.

The only concern is you now have a different engine number, depending on how vehicle registration works in your area you may need to notify the registration body about the change of engine number.

I will have to look into that. Thanks.
