So wait... this replaces you indicators? Isn't it a requirement to have amber colour lights for the indicator. That would be a defect waiting to happen.

Yes, that mod replaces the indicators. Instead of the turn signals on the top left/right, its now using the brake lights as your turn signals as well.
Red and amber are legal and the only colors allowed. Any color other than the two is illegal. Some people have white and havent been pulled over for it. There are lots of cars that have red turn signals. Its in the same housing but may not use the brake taillights as it. Like there could be a outer ring that is the blinking turn signal and a inner circle being the brake light or vice versa
I wonder how long it will be before someone starts
selling LED tailights with amber LED turn signals
for Gen 6 Camry.... I'd be happy to pay an extra
$50 for amber LED turn signals....

In the US department of transportation, the colors that are allowed for turn indicators for the rear are either yellow, amber, or red. Anything else would be illegal and face a ticket. The front turn indicators have to be amber or yellow.

That's pretty good. I would like to have clear section of my tail lights to be red as well so it would blend in a little better. Then have the reverse lights as those small strips like the BMW's. Unfortunately our laws state the indicators must be amber.
